After my undergraduate degree (Mathematics, University of Aberdeen, 1979-1983) I worked for 20 years in software development in the financial services industry. I then spent several years as an independent consultant in the same field, before embarking on the Open University Mathematics MSc as a part-time student in 2010. After graduating as an MSc I started my PhD studies in October 2013.
My research area is Algebraic Graph Theory, specifically the application of algebraic techniques to the degree-diameter and degree-girth problems of graph theory.
My lead supervisor is Prof. Jozef Širáň.
I have been responsible for producing on-line assessment questions using the STACK add-on to Moodle for two new level 1 units - MST124 Unit 7 (Calculus) and MST125 Unit 12 (Combinatorics).
I have worked as an exam script marker on the level 3 module M336 (Groups and Geometry).
