David Marti Pete

Research Student (Full-time)

Since 2013 I am a PhD student at The Open University supervised by Prof. Phil Rippon and Prof. Gwyneth Stallard. I did both my BSc in Mathematics (2006-2010) and my MSc in Advanced and Professional Mathematics (2010-2011) at Universitat de Barcelona supervised by Prof. Núria Fagella.

My research area is complex dynamics, which concerns the discrete dynamical systems associated to the iteration of holomorphic maps on Riemann surfaces. More precisely, I study the escaping set of transcendental self-maps of the punctured plane, i.e. those for which the origin and infinity are essential singularities.

Vasso Evdoridou and I are organizing the Postgraduate Conference in Complex Dynamics that will happen in De Morgan House, London, 11-13th March 2015. You can find all the info about it here.

I am a STEM Ambassador for STEMNET and I have given several talks and workshops in schools. I also volunteer for UKMT in the Senior Mentoring Scheme
